Our story

Born from the workflow, not the boardroom.

BlueCrest wasn't born from a boardroom. It was born from BGL360 screens, Class Super workflows, and hundreds of Xero tax returns and BAS preparations.

Our Founder and Director, Soham Shukla, qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAI) in 2012. In 2015, he began working with Australian accounting firms and businesses directly, starting with bookkeeping and accounts work across multiple clients and industries on Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks, before progressively moving into tax preparation and full SMSF compliance work as his Australian expertise deepened.

He didn't just manage workflows from a distance. He did the work, across multiple firms, multiple software platforms, and multiple entity types. From daily bookkeeping and bank reconciliations through to TBAR reporting, pension setups, and complex trust returns, Soham built his Australian accounting expertise from the ground up over seven years, before BlueCrest existed.

Over that period, he witnessed firsthand the industry's shift from desktop-based accounting software to modern cloud platforms, navigating that transition from within Australian firms as it happened, not catching up to it afterward.

    Qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAI).
  2. MAY 2015
    Began working with Australian accounting firms — bookkeeping and accounting work across Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks.
  3. 2015 – 2022
    Progressively deepened across tax preparation and full SMSF compliance — TBAR, pension setups, complex trust returns — across multiple firms, software platforms and entity types.
  4. May 2022
    Founded BlueCrest to solve the capacity gap he had seen firsthand across years of working with Australian practices.
  5. JUNE 2023
    Formalised a decade of Australian expertise by qualifying as a CPA Australia member.
